Synopsis: The main talk was provided by Steven Coe (above), author of astronomy books, including Nebula, and a prominent member of the Saguaro Astronomy Club. His talk was entitiled, "Observing Diffuse Nebula." The talk was an absorbing elucidation on the history of nebulae as we know them, from the time of Herschel to modern times. Many practical tips on observing nebulae were provided. He discussed what nebulae are, techniques to observe these sometimes elusive objects, and what to expect when observing them, most of which are star-forming regions in our Milky Way galaxy.



Biography: Steven Coe is an author, amateur astronomer, and a long-time, prominent member of the Saguaro Astronomy Club in Phoenix, AZ. Steven Coe has written two books for Springer publishing. The first, Deep Sky Observing: The Astronomical Tourist, and the second, Nebulae and How to Observe Them. He has also written several articles for Astronomy magazine and a monthly column for the Cloudy Nights website.
